As I expected, things have moved on since I used to help Ian with the scoring of his compositions.
I suggest a definite first step is to install MusicScore
It will not do everything you want but it can help, and later seems a
good program for transposing. And it is free.
There is another program AnthemScore that enables you to produce midi files from wav and mp3 files. The midi files can be scored either in AnthemScore or in MusicScore. AnthemScore is not free but the entry level cost is very low.
